Tuolumne County Board of Education Welcomes New Trustees and Officers

Two Newly Elected Trustees, One Appointee, and Returning Members Sworn In by Judge Laura Krieg at December 16 Meeting

The Tuolumne County Board of Education, a seven-trustee governing body, is entering the new year with a revitalized team and a renewed commitment to student success.

At the December 16th board meeting, held at 4:00 PM at the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools office, The Honorable Judge Laura Krieg administered the Oath of Office to two newly elected trustees and one appointee. Two returning trustees also renewed their terms, and new board leadership positions were confirmed.

Newly Elected and Appointed Trustees:

  • April Ritts (Trustee Area One): Replacing retiring board member Judi Wilson.
  • Jerry Whitehead III (Trustee Area Three): Stepping into the role previously held by longtime board member Juliana Feriani.
  • Melissa Higgins (Trustee Area Four): Appointed in November to fill a vacant seat.

Returning Trustees:

  • Steven Treat (Trustee Area Two) and Nichole Salyers (Trustee Area Five) both renewed their terms.

New Board Officers:

  • Cyndi Simonson (Trustee Area Seven) was elected Board President.
  • Steven Treat (Trustee Area Two) was re-elected Board Clerk.
