This introductory SEIS course is aimed at new teachers or teachers new to the SEIS platform. This virtual training provides an overview of the SEIS Dashboard and step-by-step instructions on navigating the most commonly used student IEP pages and forms, including creating a student change request.

How to Interpret Psycho-Educational Evaluations

Teachers, specialists, and administrators receive psychoeducational evaluations of their students with IEPs.  What do all those standard scores mean? How can the information in a psychoeducational report support teachers and specialists in planning effective academic interventions and quality educational programs? This training will inform IEP team members on interpreting and understanding assessment data and focusing on educational strategies.

End of Year Service Tracking

This thirty-minute training will cover any end-of-year housekeeping items that must be taken care of. The Data Technicians will give tips on verifying all data is correct and will go over all reports to be completed and submitted for auditing purposes.

CALPADS User Group

This user group will discuss the latest releases and updates provided by CALPADS. In this training, multiple data technicians will discuss various reports submitted to CALPADS, from credentialing to free and reduced lunch applications. Numerous departments will be present to answer any questions that may arise.

Understanding and Implementing Accommodations/Modifications

This training discusses the difference between accommodations and modifications and how environmental supports may be used to enhance student learning.  The training will also focus on the importance of accommodations and modifications in promoting equity and improving student access and achievements.

The Unsigned IEP

This training will focus on the legal requirements when parental consent to the proposed offer of FAPE is not obtained and will provide the next steps in the IEP process.

End of the Year Data Check-In

This end-of-year check-in will review seemingly unsolvable errors and discuss trends, tips, and tricks to certify.  The Data analyst will go over the auditing techniques the SELPA uses to audit the data and certify.  This thirty-minute check-in is an excellent place for CALPADS users to come together to solve any issues that cannot be solved.

SELPA Board Member Workshop

This workshop aims to provide board members with comprehensive information on how district/school special education, county-operated programs, regionalized services, and the SELPA work together to offer special education services to students. The allocation plan will also be discussed during the workshop, which will be held virtually. Ample time will be provided for Q&A to address any queries related to the topic.

Brown Act Workshop

This workshop covers the Brown Act rules for school boards. AALR legal experts will give a presentation and answer questions. The presentation will cover notice requirements, open meetings, closed sessions, and public access to information. Attendees will gain a profound understanding of the Brown Act's impact on school board governance.
